Examining the tension between universal signage and cultural specificity through superstitions, across different cultures.
This project collects, re-discovers histories and catalogs superstitions across different cultures using found images, re-designed signs, and writing styles. Considering the omni-presence of superstitions, the project uses ‘Superstitions as a Tool’ in itself to explore cultural overlaps and differences. This leads to an ‘active’ ‘never-ending’ archive which takes inspiration from ‘The Book of Sand’ by Louis Borges (story of a mystical book with infinite pages) : A publication as an object in itself, having a life and form of its own.
