Examining the tension between universal signage and cultural specificity, through superstitions in Indian culture.

This project creates a visual and tonal dialogue between public signs (formal) and Indian superstitions (informal), focussing on their shared instructional nature. It explores how superstitions in Indian culture travel through various visual and verbal forms and their ingrained instructional role in the Indian subconscious. By delving into my memories and the Indian visual record, the project revives iconic educational charts reminiscent of every Indian childhood, reflecting the nostalgia and sense of belonging tied to generational superstitions. "The Superstitious Etiquette" emerges as an educational welcome kit for a foreign audience.
